My Personal Message to Maine Mendoza, To Co-ALDUBNATION, and BASHERS

Today I want to talk about Maine, who I believe to be one of the most special, beautiful and authentic new-generation feminine presences in the entertaining, television business in the Philippines. Naturally beautiful and strikingly authentic, the charm of this lady goes straight to one’s heart. But most of all I love her for her very Earth-like, personal experience, which somehow never fails to inspire me. The life of the beautiful Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza wasn’t always devoid of struggle, contradiction or bizarre moments, especially during the formative but highly challenging years of adolescence. And like all of the people who have grown to later influence our lives, out of those confusing years of puberty, rose gracefully a smart, caring and beautiful woman. Surpassing the difficult phases and moments of life and becoming a better person is one thing which has earned her my complete and utter admiration. And that is why, I just can’t help but take a stand and actively speak up against the low-quality negative speech which has steered the community of Alden and Maine, OUR ALDUBNATION, only to have surely caused both of them much unnecessary and undeserved pain. I was negatively surprised by the amount of hate and negativity thrown at this beautiful woman who has not done anything but strive for greatness as a human being and constantly inspired us. Over the years, no matter the circumstances, she continued diligently working herself up the ladder of success in a very human and quite dignified fashion, a process which culminated by her, becoming a true internet and television sensation. The talent, good character, authenticity and positiveness of this refreshing and beautiful feminine presence has been a source of continuous inspiration for myself as well as for all those who have followed her closely. All the hard work combined with her life events show me not a star but a REAL PERSON. When I look at her I don’t see a fake, nicely polished image but a lovely, young human being which has faced both good and bad, happiness and despair, only to continue to go to great lengths to better herself and live life the absolute best way she knew how. All these facts make her worthy of our love, admiration, and support. And that even more so at moments when she her image is being sullied with insulting and undignified comments like the ones we have been seeing. We all have good days, we all have bad days. Most of us even have difficult periods in our lives. And most definitely so does she. Having difficult moments does not mean we are less worthy to be loved and admired but on the contrary. From my point of view, at the end of the day, her human actions have spoken volumes about her character and about the qualitative, beautiful person which she is. At the same time, all the preposterous, hating messages which are being thrown at her are just the measure and reflection of how small those who write them really are. Those are not fans and are not contributors to this fandom community. Their sole purpose here is to hurt and destroy whatever beauty and hope they find Maine like many other stars is human, which means that she will not be perfect. AND THAT IS FINE BY ME. Because she is also hard-working, luminous, authentic and filled with hope, all of which the world has much need of. It is up to us, the fans to support her to become a better, lovelier source of inspiration or to drag her down in the mud. I urge all of you, to look inside your heart to find the measure to rightfully treat our true sources of inspiration. Do not fail them, just like you would not like to be failed yourself in a moment of need by those who love you and are close to your heart. The type of world and community which we’d like to build is only up to us. Respect people and respect humanity!
